About
Migrations typically have a deep impact on social bonds of belonging, rootedness and rootlessness. While institutional belonging (in the sense of citizenship or nationality, for example) is typically a binary affair of being either in or out, the sense of belonging and feelings of rootedness and home are much more complicated and nuanced; they are profoundly affected in the case of displaced and migrating persons. This workshop seeks to throw light on the interactions between the institutional and experiential aspects of belonging and their impact on social and political bonds and disaffection by looking at some cases from recent European history.
Sessions will be held in both Spanish and English (see titles).
